During the curling season, the London Curling Club offers three hour learn-to-curl sessions for grade 7 and 8 students under the direction of our trained coaches. One class can be accommodated at a time and the club offers 10 of these learn-to-curl sessions.
The programs are offered on selected Wednesday mornings (see the club calendar) and involve both on-ice and off-ice activities. Students will become familiar with basic rules and strategy; they will learn how to make a successful delivery of a curling stone; and they will learn how to "brush" a rock down the ice. Students are instructed in small groups with experienced coaches who will guide them to success.
Schools interested in becoming involved should contact the Club Manager to be placed on the waiting list.
Teachers are provided with a background information package (see below) that will assist the students prior to arrival at the club and that will ensure that the students are suitably attired for the activities. The students are responsible for bringing a separate, clean pair of running shoes and a sports helmet. The club provides brooms and sliders.
