Founded in 1847, our club is one of the oldest in the country!
On December 10, 1847 a group of businessmen got together and formed the London Curling Club. Over the next 50+ years they curled on ice at The Coves, on the Thames River and Lake Horn, a small pond in the area of Richmond and Picadilly. They moved to Western Fair's Crystal Palace which burned down in 1913. Then in 1915 the club purchased the Jubille Skating Rink on Lyle Street and we still curl out of this old building, hoping to someday find a new facility.
Curling is a unique sport that requires both skill and strategy. It is often referred to as chess on ice. It is a lifelong sport that can be learned at any age. Whether playing in a competetive or recreational league, the emphasis is always on sportsmanship, fun and fair play. Being a social sport by nature, it is not uncommon for teams to socialize off the ice where lasting friendships are often made.

London Curling Club’s Capital Projects Fund is an approved project under the Ontario Sport Network (OSN) and the National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF), allowing for charitable tax receipts to be issued for donations to the fund. Donations will be used to renovate and maintain the existing facility or, in the long term, to build a new curling facility in London to replace the existing 100+ year old building. We encourage all members and fans of curling to make a donation that will help us grow the sport in London.
