Refund Policy

1. The Club is not obligated to give refunds for fees or dues.

2. Refunds – Normal Circumstances:

• Prior to the start of league play in October:
  • If the member elects to withdraw prior to the start of league play in October, LCC will issue a full refund on request to the LCC office.
  • In this case, the amount of the refund will include membership fees, any curling association fees, locker rentals, capital fees (if any) and club draws (if any) along with applicable taxes.
• After league play has commenced:
  • LCC may refund a portion of paid membership fees upon request to the LCC office. Refunds will only be considered due to:
    • relocation
    • illness
    • injury
  • Refunds and discounts will NOT be considered for vacations.
  • Such refunds will be made only on the membership fees and will not be made for payments made toward curling association fees, locker rental, capital fees (if any), club draws (if any) and league entry fees (if any).
  • The amount of the refund will be calculated on the number of full calendar months remaining in the curling season.

3. Extraordinary Circumstances:

Extraordinary circumstances include events which make curling impossible due to health, safety, or mechanical problems such as but not limited to, the following:

• a public health emergency such as the Covid pandemic of 2020.
• an order to close the building for any health or safety reason.
• a prolonged equipment failure making the ice surface unplayable.

Refunds will be automatic and need not be requested. They will be handled as in Section 2 with the following additional provisions:

• The Board of the LCC will determine the start, end, and duration of the unusual circumstance.
• The first two weeks of extraordinary circumstance will not be reimbursed. This could be one continuous 2-week event or a series of small events that add up to 2 weeks.
• The Club will not process more than 1 refund per season and depending on the type and scope of the circumstances, refunds may not occur until the season has ended and the full extent of the total number weeks lost is known.
• Should the entire season be cancelled prior to the season having started 100% of all monies paid will be refunded.
