Fay Weiler, shown here with LCC Manager, Greg Lewis, has stepped down from her role as Secretary of the Board of Directors. Fay has been a dedicated and trusted volunteer around the club for close to 40 years. The following is a summary of Fay's dedication to LCC.

• Joined LCC with her husband Willie in 1982 (42 years as a member)
• Started curling in the Mixed League but switched to the Women's Daytime Section
• Became involved with various WDS programs, convening and helping with events (kitchen duties, serving, decorations, scoring)
• Maintained WDS documents regarding rules, structure and guidelines
• Volunteered to help with multiple LCC Bonspiels as Drawmaster and/or assisting with other activities from 1985 to 2023
• 1996-97 - WDS Games coordinator
• 1997-98 - WDS chairperson and 1998-99 Past chair
• 2003-04 - joined the LCC Board of Directors, served on curling/league committee
• 2004-05 - Secretary of the Board of Directors
• 2005-06 - LCC Vice President
• 2006-07 - LCC President
• 2007-08 - LCC Past President
• 2009 – 2023 Secretary of the Board of Directors, recording minutes and keeping the club's bylaws and operating procedures up to date

She has been a valued member of the Board of Directors for 20 years. Fay served on multiple committees over the years (volunteers, fundraising, awards, leagues, etc) and would always offer to help in the office with processing pre-season registrations.

In 2020 Fay was awarded a Lifetime Membership, presented to longtime and outstanding members who are honoured for significant contributions to the club over an extended period of time.

Fay is also well known in the world of gymnastics. She travelled globally to major gymnastics competitions in her role as an international judge and was Canada’s Chief Judge for women's competitive gymnastics. Willie was also deeply involved in gymnastics and competed at the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo.

In Fay's words....  "It's been a pleasure working with so many dedicated and committed board and committee members as well as staff. Seeing the Club maintain its friendly, welcoming atmosphere and its member's attitude of helpfulness and social fun – epitomized by the Bonspiels with their decorations, costumes, entertainment, games etc. I've made so many friendships!  What do I prefer not to remember? Taking two falls down staircases with the resulting broken bones as well as having to stop curling, but I am thankful for the support and friendships – and the installation of much needed handrails!  My legacy to the club!"
