LCC Member Successes!

Dave Johnston

During the summer of 2023, David Johnston, LCC member and current Club Champion, teamed up with 2 other men from Seaforth, Rick Wood and Murray Bennewies, to form a senior men's lawnbowling Triples team.

This team went on to win the Ontario Senior Triples title! That win secured an entry in the Canadian Championships to be played in Edmonton AB from September 12-16.

The Ontario champs finished the round robin in first place with a record of 5 wins and 2 losses. In the final they easily defeated their opponents to claim the GOLD MEDAL.

Congratulations to David and his fellow lawnbowlers!

Upper Lounge Renovations

Major changes have been happening over the summer! The kitchen is getting a major overhaul, the two storage rooms are being reconfigured and updated, the Ladies washroom is being split to make two "Gender Neutral" washrooms and the lounge itself is being updated with new paint, tables and chairs. A second TV is being installed as well. It's going to be awesome!

Key club members who volunteered a huge amount of their time and energy over the summer months were:

Kevin MacDonald (electrical work, piano removal and lots more)

Dawn Lewis (kitchen design, purchasing of cabinets, flooring and other fixtures, assisted with flooring, clearing out and restocking the kitchen)

Dave Mann (painting, painting, painting)

Greg Lewis (design, painting, purchasing, installing storage room flooring etc.)

Many other members chipped to help with tear-out, disposal of waste materials and other tasks. Thank You to all!

The club also employed members Ken and Anita Stenson to complete the construction and long-time sponsor Deacon Flooring to supply and install the new tile floors.

Please thank these folks for their efforts!
